The Indiana Jones Temple of Doom figure presents Indiana Jones on one of his most memorable expeditions as he battles the ruthless high priest Mola Ram. This piece features the famous archaeologist with his signature satchel containing the Sankara stones.
Weighing in at 10 pounds, this premium format Indy figure is based on the 1984 film entitled Indiana Jones Temple of Doom. Starring Harrison Ford and directed by Steven Spielberg, this was the second film that depicts the life and adventures of the famous archaeologist Indiana Jones; the first one being the Raiders of the Lost Ark that was released in 1981.
The setting of the movie takes place in 1935. The story starts as Indiana Jones, together with his travelling companions, manage to escape the wrath of Lao Che, a crime leader in Shanghai. While escaping, they find themselves stranded in Northern India following a plane crash. The inhabitants believe Indy has been sent by the Hindu god Shiva to help them recover their missing children and the sacred Sankara stones that were stolen by the Thuggee cult.
Indy soon discovers that the Thuggee cult has enslaved the missing children and built a secret underground temple to the goddess Kali. Its evil high priest, Mola Ram, plans to use the Sankara stones to enslave the entire world.
After a harrowing mine cart chase through the Temple of Doom, Indy and his companions escape into the jungle with the Sankara stones only to find themselves ambushed by Mola Ram and the Thuggee warriors. He was able to defeat Mola Ram by invoking an incantation to Shiva that made the stones burn Mola Rum’s hand, causing him to fall into a crocodile-infested river where he was eaten.
The movie was considered one of the best films in 1984 and the figure based on the move is a must have for any Indy fan. It is perhaps the coolest version of Indy in all of the four movies as he looks just ready for action. And paired with a Mola Ram figure, he just may be.
The one thing that is totally amazing about this replica is the Sankara stones. They are loosely distributed in his signature satchel along with one that he can hold in this left hand. From the massive base (complete with chilled monkey brains) to the spot on likeness of Harrison Ford and his dynamic pose right from the movie screen, this Indiana Jones Temple of Doom Figure will surely become an instant classic.
If you are a professional collector or just an admirer of a really great film and character, you can’t miss out on adding the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom figure to your collection. This is a great figure overall with a spot-on likeness of Indy. The fedora, action pose, satchel & stones, clothing damage, scuffs & blood, sword & whip, make it a figure you’d be proud to display on your shelf!
